Karen Seibert

Karen Ruth Seibert, 60, of Pinewood Springs, passed from this life on December 14, 2008 leaving behind her husband of 20 years David Seibert, and children Ginger, Todd and JR.

Karen was born August 24, 1948 in Circleville, Ohio to Leland Russell and Mary Ruth (Owens) Siegwald. She graduated from Whetstone High School in Columbus, then studied for two years at Casper College, Wyoming before returning to Ohio to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Ohio University.

Karen returned to Casper after her graduation and worked as an elementary school teacher. She married William Kidd on February 19, 1972 and together raised three children.

Karen and her children moved to Fort Collins in 1986. She reunited with her high school sweetheart Dave Seibert and they married on December 17, 1988 in Estes Park, Colorado. Dave and Karen settled in Pinewood Springs, Colorado in 1993.

Karen was a very dedicated wife and mother. Family was most important to her. She was the ultimate sports mom, supporting her children as they played every sport imaginable, from soccer to baseball, gymnastics to swimming. Karen had creative talent. She was an artist, illustrator, painter, sculptor, writer and enjoyed quilting, woodworking and scrapbooking. More recently, she was an active and loved member of The River Community Church in Lyons, Colorado. Karen will be remembered for always being positive and willing to go out of her way to help others.

Karen is survived by her husband Dave, her three children, Ginger Kay Kidd, William Todd Kidd and John Russell Kidd and his wife Andrea; her father, Leland Siegwald of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers,

Gary and Jim Siegwald and two sisters, Kathy Golde and Barbara Boucher.

A memorial service will be held at The River Community Church in Lyons, Colorado on Saturday, December 20th at 11:00 a.m. Services will be officiated by Pastor Mickey Lohr. Cremation will occur at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory in Longmont, Colorado.

    Dear Jim, Gary,Kathy,Barb and Leland,
    I so Sorry to hear about Karen’s passing, Our whole family has your family in our prayers. I know it’s not an easy thing to loose someone you love at such a young age… My sister Carol passed away in 2006 of Cancer, My sister Margie is fighting Cancer now as well. My Mom and Dad passed away In 2004 and 2007. I know they are now all in Heaven getting caught up on all the good times they had here on earth. I know your mom is there to greet her and show her around. Jim give me a call and we can get caught up on the last 37 years. I can still remember all the good times we had as kids. We sure played alot of basketball, and Gary I can still rember how you used to sink those shots from the back step of your porch. Talk to you soon Tom Davis 740-666-1287
