Karen Cox, 62 years old died at her Estes Park, CO home January 18, 2012.
Karen Kay Kvols was born January 14, 1950 in West Point, NE. Her parents are Donald and Eileen (Hasenkamp) Kvols. Karen graduated from Estes Park High School and attended Colorado State University and the University of Northern Colorado. On May 31, 1975 she married Gregory Cox at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Estes Park. The couple owned several businesses including the Candle Cave in Ferncliff, CO, the Wampum Post in Longmont, the Ranch House Lodge in Salida and in 2000 purchased the town of Ferncliff. Karen is survived by her husband Greg of Estes Park; a son Dorian and his wife Justice of Estes Park; her parents of Colorado Springs; two grandchildren Cade and Tevyn Cox of Estes Park; brothers Kelly Kvols of Colorado Springs, Kevin Kvols of Steamboat Springs, CO and Ken Kvols of Colorado Springs; a sister Kathy Tuck of Colorado Springs.
A funeral service will be held Friday, January 27, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church.
