Junior Golf Program Thanks

To The Editor:

The summer is rapidly approaching an end, especially for the kids in our town. The Estes Park Junior Golf Program concluded this week, and I wanted to take this opportunity to recognize some of the outstanding individuals that make this program a success.

First of all, Dale Berg, Austin Logan, and Rhett Hull did an incredible job teaching the junior golfers. The kids really enjoyed their expertise! Thanks guys! All of the financial supporters of this program deserve a big thanks. More than 170 juniors participated this summer. Donated equipment, golf balls, and financial contributions make this program self-sufficient. More than 60 sets of clubs are given away each year, and many of them are new sets.

Many contributions are made through our annual Golf Marathon, the Rotary Duck Race, and several weeks ago, the Nan Ryan Invitational took place at the 9-hole golf course. Nan’s tournament raised more than $1,500 this year, and has become one of the junior program’s largest fundraisers. Thanks to all who participated and especially to Nan and all of her volunteers for their hard work and dedication to the youth in this community!
Thank you to the contributors on behalf of Ben Cusumano’s memory. We miss Ben and his love for kids and the game. Thanks to Carol and Don Cheley, Janet and Mike Nagl, Carolyn and Jack Holmquist, Marsha and Jon Sypher, and to the many others, some who remain anonymous. Finally, thanks to all of the juniors for having fun and making this fun. It is great to see so many children enjoying this wonderful game. This community should be very proud of this program that they have helped create and maintain.

Head Golf Professional & Junior Golf Director
