July 12 Breakfast Buffet And July 20 Ice Cream Social At Senior Center

The second of four summer breakfast buffets will be held this Saturday, July 12 from 7:00-11:00 a.m. at the Senior Center, 220 4th St. The Senior Center served 261 breakfasts at the first breakfast in June and breakfast chairmen Vern and Jeanie Mertz send hearty thanks to the community and to the Egg & I for sponsorship and support. Senior Center buffet breakfasts are held on the 2nd Saturday of June, July, August and the first Saturday of September.

Breakfasts are open to the community! Breakfast buffet prices are $7 for adults and $3 for children ages 4-7. Children under age 4 are free. No reservations are necessary. It is an event worth attending with neighbors, friends, houseguests and family. Special bakery such as homemade cinnamon rolls and flaky biscuits for biscuits and gravy are featured. Other items on the breakfast buffet include pancakes, bacon, delicious eggs, sausage patties, the best fresh fruit bowl, hash browns, juices and coffee.

Other great family and community events are featured this year at the Senior Center.  The community is invited to attend the second Ice Cream Social fundraiser on Sunday, July 20 from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. at the Senior Center, 220 4th St.  Join the fun with delicious ice cream compliments of Walrus Ice Cream and Fourteener’s Café and Paul Fishman. A variety of toppings will be served to satisfy every sweet-tooth.
Breakfasts and socials are informal and friendly events and offer a wonderful chance to entertain family and friends as well as a perfect way to meet others. Dozens of Senior Center volunteers operate the breakfasts and ice cream socials and act as hosts and hostesses, manage all of the food preparation, cooking and serving for the events.

For more information or to volunteer for the breakfasts or the ice cream socials, call or stop by the Senior Center at 220 4th St. or 586-2996.
