Join In the Grandstand Grand Opening On June 30th For Food, Fun And Music!
On June 30 at 12:00 noon, the community is invited to celebrate the opening of the new Grandstand at the Fairgrounds at Stanley Park. Ample parking will be available by entering the Fairgrounds from Manford Avenue. The Lions Club of Estes Park will serve free hotdogs, chips and soda and local musician Ron Ball will provide lively entertainment. At 12:30 p.m., Mayor Bill Pinkham, Town Trustees and Commissioners of the Estes Park Urban Renewal Authority (EPURA) will gather for a ribbon-cutting before welcoming the public inside the new grandstand building for the dedication of the facility.
The Grandstand Grand Opening is co-sponsored by the Town of Estes Park, EPURA and Taylor Kohrs, the general contractor for the Grandstand.
The Town of Estes Park and EPURA partnered to fund the construction of the new grandstand. EPURA is the primary manager of the project and the Town will assume full ownership of the facility upon completion. EPURA and the Town have focused efforts on using local contractors and suppliers for the approximately $2.37 million project.
The new grandstand will seat nearly 2,700 people, an increase of 600 seats from the old facility. Approximately 98% of the old grandstand was either reused or recycled, amounting to 470 tons of materials. A photo chronology of the project is available at www.estes.org/events.
