Join Elijah Wood At The Stanley Film Festival April 24-27
The full Stanley Film Festival program has been announced and individual tickets are on sale now! We have four days of the best horror films you will see all year, in-person guests and a sampling of “side-show” experiences you won’t want to miss. Elijah Wood and SpectreVision co-founders Daniel Noah and Josh Waller will be in attendance to accept the second annual Visionary Award.
The award presentation will be followed by a screening of SpectreVision’s executive produced film, Open Windows, an otherworldly new thriller which stars Wood. Opening Night begins with the Gala Presentation of an original documentary from EPiX, Doc of the Dead. Directed by Colorado filmmaker, Alexandre O. Philippe (The People Vs. George Lucas), the film explores the evolution of the zombie genre in film, television and literature, as well as its impact and influence on pop culture. Following the Opening Night film, join us for a party that gives new meaning to the term, “dead sexy.” Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret presents the Zombie Burlesque Bombshells! Brace yourself for a cavalcade of curves, undead flesh, bumps and gory grinds.
The Denver County Fair’s annual Corpse’s & Crowns: Zombie Beauty Pageant (featured in Doc of the Dead) winners will also be on hand to show off their unique talent. The Festival will close with the mockumentary from Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords), What We Do In The Shadows, about a house of vampires trying to get back in touch with modern society. Join us post screening for a party featuring a performance from Munly & The Lupercalians.
