Jim Martinsen For Park & Rec Board
To The Editor:
I am running for a Director Position on the Estes Valley Park and Recreation District Board. I have considerable Board experience having served on the Boulder Planning Commission for eight years, the St. Vrain Board of Education for eight years, and the Niwot Sanitation District Board for six years.
I moved to Estes Park two years ago and my daughter became involved with swimming, first for the Middle School, than she joined the Estes Otters Swim Club. I am now an Otters Director, and have become involved with many aspects of pool use. During the past two years I have worked with the Estes Park Learning Place on their Annual Adult Spelling Bee, I have joined the League of Women Voters and I am actively involved with their recycling initiatives. I am also on the Board of Directors for my Homeowners Associate.
I strongly believe we need someone on the Parks and Recreation Board who is an advocate for the Aquatic Center. I am also an active hiker and a golfer. In the past I have coached girls Fast Pitch Softball, as well as Unified Softball – a program for developmentally and mentally challenged youth and adults – and I have a deep interest in recreational programs.
Please vote on May 6, and please vote for me. Thank you.
