Jeffery Stewart Giles II


Jeffery Stewart Giles II (30) tragically passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2012. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on December 15, 1981, the son of Jeffery Stewart Giles of Milford, MI and Nancy Weldin Kuhlman of Estes Park. Jeff moved to Estes Park at the age of 2 and lived there with his mother and stepfather, John McDougall. He attended Estes Park schools and spent 7th grade in Michigan with his father and step-mother, Jean Giles. Jeff is a graduate of Estes Park High School, Class of 2000. During this time, he was employed at Boyatt Glass in Estes Park. In 2002, he moved to Fort Collins, where he received an associate degree in Automotive Technology at Front Range Community College and worked at Markley Motors in Fort Collins, as an automotive technician. On July 3, 2004, Jeff married Sheri Elizabeth Stewart, the daughter of Don and Elizabeth Stewart, formerly of Fort Collins and currently of Estes Park. He graduated from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management in December 2008. In the construction industry, Jeff was LEED certified by the Green Building Certification Institute. After graduation, he was employed at Nolte & Associates, as a Field Engineer for Vestas Americas, in Brighton. In 2010, Jeff started a web marketing business called WebFound Media. In September 2012, he began a new job as a construction estimator at McCauley Constructors in Windsor. Jeff was a talented musician and enjoyed playing the guitar and drums. He also played golf and was quite the fly fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Sheri Stewart Giles of Fort Collins; a daughter, Elissa Michelle Giles, a 6th grade student at Preston Middle School in Fort Collins; his father and step-mother, Jeff and Jean Giles of Milford, MI, his mother and step-father, Nancy and Keith Kuhlman; sister, Jamie Giles and three nephews Jake, Joey and J.J., all of Laurel, MT; brothers Nick and Spencer Giles in MI; brother Nick McDougall in Fort Collins; paternal-grandmother, Marilyn Giles of Milford, MI, paternal-aunts and cousins, Julie Sherlock, of Ludington, MI (cousins: Chris, Julianna and Ally) and Jodi Pyle of Northville, MI (cousin Stephanie); paternal-uncle, John Giles of Wyandotte, MI; maternal-great-grandmother Katheryn Bonar of Kalama, WA; maternal-grandparents Lee and Caroline Weldin of Estes Park; maternal-aunts and cousins in Estes Park: Teri Salerno, (cousin Lauren Carter-Boulder), Kathi Weldin, Vicki Weibel (cousins Anna and Faith) and Wendy Weldin (cousin Jeremiah Allen); and his best friend of 28 years, Ryan Rohrbaugh, of Estes Park. His paternal-grandfather, Stewart Giles predeceased him six weeks ago, on August 12, 2012.

Arrangements are being handled by Allnutt Funeral Service, Drake Chapel in Fort Collins. A viewing was held at their Estes Park chapel on Sunday afternoon. The memorial service will be held Saturday, October 13, 10 a.m. at Mountain View Bible Fellowship, 1575 S. St. Vrain Avenue, at Highway 7 and Peak View Dr., Estes Park, Colorado. For family and close friends, a luncheon reception will be held at the church and scattering of ashes will follow at a scenic Estes Park location. In lieu of flowers, a college fund has been established for Jeff’s daughter, Elissa, to benefit her continued education. Checks may be made payable to “College America” with the notation “Elissa Giles,” and may be included in cards sent to family members or may be sent directly to Allnutt Funeral Chapel, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, CO 80526.
