Estes Park resident Jane Cotton died at North Shore Manor in Loveland on Saturday September 21, 2013. She was 67 years old. Mary Jane Cotton was born November 1, 1945 in Omaha, NE. Her parents were Kenneth and Arda (Jessen) Cotton.
Jane received her Bachelor’s Degree in Arizona and her Master’s Degree in Education in Houston, TX. She started her teaching career in Elementary Education, moved to Middle School, then to Vocational Counseling at Edison High School in San Antonio, TX, where she was dedicated to helping young people decide on career choices and receiving the education and skills needed to fulfill their goals.
She had a passion for traveling and had visited London, Scotland and France on trips to Europe. Jane is survived by her daughter and grandson, Susan Cotton and Matthew of Estes Park, sister Judy Crownover and her husband Norris of Spring, TX and nieces Cindi Adams and Cristi Vilade and special friend, Alfred Gaitan, who was like a son to her. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will celebrate Jane’s life on Saturday October 5, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Rocky Mountain Church 451 Promontory Drive in Estes Park.
