Historic Photographs At The Baldpate

Join us at the Baldpate Inn for an evening with Derek Fortini, Estes Park Museum Manager and Curator of Exhibits, August 1st at 7 p.m. Derek will be presenting “Historic Details: A Closer Look at Some Historic Photographs,” a fascinating lecture about Estes Park Museum’s photographs that reveals stories of times past.

Derek Fortini has an M.A. in Art History with a Museum Studies emphasis at the University of Denver. His work experience includes the Laboratory of Art & Ideas in Lakewood and the Denver Art Museum and he is the former Curator of Collections at the Estes Park Museum. Derek develops, selects artifacts, designs, and produces exhibits in addition to overseeing all Museum operations. His expertise on history will be shared in the, also historic, Key Room of The Baldpate Inn.

The recently digitized photographs will be enlarged on a projector to further investigate revealing details. Test your mind and expand your knowledge with this presentation. Not everything is as it seems!

This free information session is part of our Summer Enchanted Evenings series that runs from June through September. Our Wednesday evening series is part history, part natural history, and part show & tell. Topics will range from mountaineering to live yaks.
