The Glen Haven General Store, a long-standing resource in a small community north of Estes Park for approximately 100 years, was severely damaged in the floods that hit the front range a couple of weeks ago. It so happens that this business is owned by my brother and his wife, who have operated it for 33 years. This isn’t the first time Steve & Becky have been involved in this task – the store was severely damaged in the 1976 Big Thompson flood as well, and Steve & Becky helped Becky’s family rebuild the store then.

Steve & Becky may not be able to rebuild the store without our financial help. Their family has established a website which provides some more information about the store and shows the extent of this year’s flood damage.

This request is out of character for me, but sometimes we have to just stick our neck out a bit to try to help someone else in need. If you are interested in helping, please visit our website at http://www.youcaring.com/help-a-neighbor/long-live-the-glen-haven-general-store-cinnamon-rolls-/90714

Please also forward this information to others you know who might be interested, or just tell them where to find the website. You can make a donation directly through the vehicle on the website, or if you prefer you can mail a check to me payable to “Glen Haven General Store Fund” at 248 Cottonwood St., Delta CO 81416.

Thanks for your consideration and help.
