Helen Dunlap, Estes Park resident since 1999, died at Prospect Park Living Center on October 28, 2013. She was 96 years old. Helen Pierson was born April 11, 1917 in Gallipolis, OH. Her parents were Harry and Mabel (Spencer) Pierson.
On May 15, 1939 she married Donald T. Dunlap in Detroit, MI. Helen received a Teaching Certificate from Rio Grande College in OH. She taught Elementary School for 35 years at Elementary Schools in Moorefield, Freeport and Cadiz, all in Ohio. She retired in 1972. Helen was the Church Organist at Nottingham Presbyterian Church for almost 50 years, one of the first Women Elders at Nottingham.
She had also been a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Charleston, IL , Harrison City Teachers Association and later the Retired Teachers Association. Helen is survived by her son in law Gary Wallace of Estes Park, grandchildren Eric Wallace of San Francisco, CA and Kara Wallace of Fort Collins, CO; great grandchildren Kaleigh and Andrew Wallace and great great granddaughter Sidney. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister and her daughter Judy Wallace. Cremation is planned and burial will take place at Moorefield Cemetery in Ohio.
