Habitat Picnic A Heart-Warming Event

Dear Editor,

On Sunday, July 20th, a number of Habitat Homeowners and Board members gathered in Stanley Park to relax, relish the wonderful food that potluck suppers generally attract and enjoy the opportunity to get better acquainted. As the hackneyed phrase goes: “A good time was had by all.”

Our hope is that the picnic will become an annual event, encouraging the formation of friendships and a spirit of community.

It was heart-warming to witness the generosity with which this event was greeted by a number of local organizations and businesses: the Estes Valley Parks and Recreation District, Crossroads Ministry, St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, Scott Webermeier at the Country Store, Aswin Pandey at McDonald’s  and last, but not least, Rent-All on Manford Avenue.

Our thanks go out to everyone who supported this particular event and to all in the community who assist Habitat for Humanity financially, physically-through their volunteer labor at our building sites-and spiritually-with their prayers.
