Gordon Trumbauer died February 23, 2012, of complications from Parkinson’s disease. He was born in Monticello, Illinois on October 11th, 1923, to Nelson and Edna Trumbauer. Gordon graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Chemical Engineering and from the University of Michigan with a Master’s in Industrial Engineering. After spending three years in the U. S. Navy during WWII, he worked for Eastman Kodak Company for 38 years both in Rochester, NY and in Windsor, Colorado. He also lectured for 10 years at the School of Business at the University of Rochester.
In 1946, he married Carolyn Steel who died in 1979. In 1992, he married Shirley Svedman who died in July 2011. Gordon was an avid hiker, climbing hundreds of trails in Colorado, other states, and many foreign countries, including Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa and Everest Base Camp in Nepal. He loved to travel and his wife, Shirley, accompanied him on many trips and hiking adventures. Gordon was fortunate to have traveled all seven continents.
Two sons, David and Stephen Trumbauer, both of Ft. Collins, survive Gordon. Three stepdaughters also survive him: Cindy (Grant) Kusuno, of Loveland, Deborah Svedman, of El Paso, Texas, and Carol (Mike) Geary of Dallas, Texas.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 on Sunday, March 4, 2012, at the Community Church of the Rockies in Estes Park.
