The Glen Haven Area Volunteer Fire Department was pleased to accept delivery of a brand new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado crew-cab pickup truck last week. This truck will replace to two older vehicles that are near the end of service for the department.

Glen Haven still has a long way to come to recover from the September floods and this new 4 WD diesel-powered, 1-ton vehicle, with a snowplow will help residents get their lives back to normal a bit faster than before. This truck will certainly make a difference to the beloved town of Glen Haven and has already boosted the morale of the firefighters and residents.

This beautiful new truck was donated to the fire department by Chevrolet and its dealerships across Northern Colorado.

County Road 43, the main street of Glen Haven, has recently re-opened, but the fire department is still challenged to provide adequate emergency services to residents who live anywhere other than on County Road 43 because of the highly damaged side roads.

Not only will the truck serve the fire department needs, it will be also be used to plow snowy roads and haul trailers loaded with flood debris.

Much has yet to happen for Glen Haven to get back to normal however, this truck will certainly prove to be instrumental in helping to get the town back on it’s feet.
