Gift Pushes Community Fund Legacy Campaign Over Goal
A $50,000 memorial gift in honor of David Krumme helped the Estes Valley Community Fund, of the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado, exceed its goal to increase the local endowment fund. The Estes Valley Community Fund committee is pleased and excited to announce that the fund drive to raise $600,000 to build the endowment for the long-term benefit of local non-profit organizations was reached in the last several weeks! The final tally of pledges and gifts totaled $668,200!! The committee wishes to express its sincere gratitude and thanks to all those in our community who contributed to this important fund drive.
The capstone gift was from the George Krumme family of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mr. Krumme wanted to establish a memorial for our community in honor of his son, David Krumme, who passed away recently. This wonderful gift will benefit our non-profit organizations for years to come, and will indeed honor all that David and Cynthia have done for our community.
The Estes Valley Community Fund was established at the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado in 1999, as a permanent endowment fund – with the requirement that the annual income from the fund must be distributed back to Estes Valley non-profit organizations. With the successful completion of this fund drive the committee overseeing the annual grants will now be able to distribute eight times more monies than has been the case in recent years!
This $600,000 fund drive was the first step in the committee’s longer-term goal of building the fund to a level of $2,000,000. When the endowment fund reaches this level it will generate about $100,000 per year to be distributed back to our local non-profit organizations to help support and sustain them year after year! All gifts, regardless of size, are welcomed to help build this dream.
