Free Seminar On Tree Diseases And Pests March 10
The Town of Estes Park and the Estes Park Garden Club will offer a seminar on tree diseases and pests native to Estes Park Monday, March 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Board Room, 170 MacGregor Avenue. The seminar is presented by Colorado State University (CSU) graduate students Cristy Cleaver, MS Ecology candidate and Megan Dudley, PhD Plant Pathology candidate. Both students have been active in programs in the Bioagricultural Sciences and Pest Management Department at CSU. Brian Berg, certified Arborist for the Town of Estes Park, will also provide an update on related tree activities by the Town.
The presentation will cover identification, treatment, and prevention of common tree diseases and pests featuring problems with Ponderosa, Spruce, Cottonwood and Aspen. The discussion will also include information on the Emerald Ash Borer beetle, which has been identified in Boulder County. This presentation will serve as the Garden Club’s March meeting and is part of the ongoing America in Bloom and Tree City, USA programs for the Town of Estes Park.
