Frances Michael Paglia
Michael Paglia died on April 5, 2010 after battling a long illness, Mike was 57.
Mike was born in Salina, Kansas to Gregg (Tony) and Opal Paglia on June 1, 1952. Mike lived most of his young life in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, moving to beautiful Estes Park in 1962 at the age of 10. Mike started work at an early age, tossing pizza at his father’s pizza restaurants in Salina, KS and Estes Park. Mike married his high school sweetheart, Kathy Bates and relocated to Wyoming in 1975, where he worked in the oil field industry, honed his “famous” carpet laying skills and also spent several years working for the Riverton School District.
His only daughter, Shannon Paglia was his shining star. Mike was loved by all. His big smile and bigger heard touched everyone who knew him. He was truly at home living in Riverton. He was an avid outdoorsman who tried anything new and exciting. He had many passions, golf, windsurfing, working on cars, darts and motorcycles. His local social club UMF America was like his extended family. Most of his close friends called Mike, “Pickle,” a name he acquired in his youth.
Friends and family will remember Mike as a big brother, a story teller, always making others laugh and smile with his jokes and loving sense of humor.
He is survived by his daughter Shannon, brothers Butch, Tony and Doug, sister Debbie, two nieces, Jennifer and Paige and his girlfriend, Geri Brown.
