On Tuesday, organizers of the Flood Mud Volleyball tournament held last month, donated $9,000 to Crossroads Ministries. The money will benefit our communities for flood recovery and helping those affect get through the winter months.

Cynthia Elkins, creator of this fun, community event told us, “Walking around in our sweet town and shoveling out my home, I just kept hearing a voice say ‘when life gives you lemons make lemonade.’ Well, we got mud, what are we going to do? Play mud volleyball!”

Cynthia said next year, the tournament will be even bigger and better since we will have more than 2 1/2 weeks to plan and organize it! Cynthia is very pleased that they were able to raise $9,000 just by convincing people to get a little dirty and have some fun. She wants to thank everyone involved in this “fun-raiser” and she added, “Convincing a group of good people to help was easy and we are all looking forward to doing it again, minus the flood of course.”
