Fitness Equipment Along Lake Estes Trail
Lake Estes Trail users – tell us what you think! The Estes Valley Recreation and Park District (EVRPD), in conjunction with the Estes Valley Trails Committee, is seeking public input in regard to placing fitness stations at various intervals/locations along the Lake Estes Trail. EVRPD will seek Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) grant funding for financial assistance to purchase this equipment. If funding is granted, future fitness equipment installation will be based on feedback received from the survey.
The proposed fitness stations would provide a “training circuit” around the lake for trail users of all ages. The fitness stations are self-paced and would be free to use. Fitness stations are equipped with instructions that guide users through a series of stretches, resistance training, balance and cardiovascular exercises. Exercise routines are designed for various levels of fitness and abilities. (For examples of fitness stations)
If you and your family currently stroll, powerwalk, jog, or bike around the Lake Estes Trail, fitness stations can be used to enhance your trail experience, your outdoor workout, and provide your family with a free, healthy group activity.
EVRPD is conducting an online survey to determine the level of community interest and support for this project. To access the survey, visit our website — www.evrpd.com — and click on the “Tell Us What You Think!” link listed under “Upcoming Events” or click on the “SURVEY” tab at the top of the page. The survey is short and takes less than 5 minutes to complete. Please take a few minutes to provide us with valuable feedback. The survey will be available online through Sunday, February 24. If you do not have Internet access, feel free to contact us at 970-586-8191 to obtain a paper copy of the survey.
