The Hicks family welcomed Levi Zerek on January 7, 2011 to the world just days after the start of the new year. Levi joins two sisters Jenika, age four, and Mya, age two who were also born at Estes Park Medical Center. Levi was born at 11:45 pm and weighed 7 pounds, 1.2 ounces and was 20 inches long! He was delivered and attended by Dr. Martin Koschnitzke and the New Life Center nursing staff.

“Aaron and I could not have been happier with the service that we received from EPMC. We had the best nurses and the best doctor that anyone could have wished for!” The New Life Center was absolutely perfect and the most comfortable place to birth a baby. Everything about our experience was amazing! The Hicks family moved to Estes Park from California. “We love it here,” said Terah Hicks. “It is wonderful to raise our kids in such a tight knit community. Not only are we lucky to have such a great hospital, but a wonderful library and a community that truly cares about children.”

Every year, Estes Park Medical Center celebrates the birth of the first baby of the New Year. A gift basket is presented to the family along with a gift certificate for dinner for the parents. Additionally local merchants provide gifts to the family. EPMC also provides a special dinner for the family before they leave to go home.

Having a baby is a very special, emotional and life-changing experience. The first touch of your newborn’s hand or yawn on his/her tiny face is unforgettable. At Estes Park Medical Center, we believe that being part of your baby’s birth is a privilege. Our every effort is focused on the well-being and comfort of the mother- to- be! When you deliver your baby at EPMC you truly become part of our family. We get to know you by name and listen to your needs. We also recognize the importance of having the support of those you love around you and invite your family to become involved and help celebrate the birth of your baby.

The physicians and obstetrical nurses at EPMC are highly trained health care experts who love what they do, and it shows. Our exceptional nursing staff is cross-trained in all aspects of labor, delivery, postpartum and infant care, so the same nurse can care for you and your baby. This provides an important continuity of care.

With soft lighting and modern, comfortable furniture and appointment as well as state-of-the art equipment, EPMC’s family birthing suites provides a welcoming and calming atmosphere. The New Life Center features two birthing suites and each room has hardwood floors and is furnished with a bed, bassinet, and flat-screen TV. The stylish tile-lined bathrooms are each equipped with a spa tub and shower for mom’s comfort.

Security is also a priority. The Birthing Center is locked at all times for both patient privacy and security. All visitors must be cleared by the family before visiting.

EPMC cares for our community residents throughout their entire life. The New Life Center ensures they get the best start possible!

Congratulations to Aaron and Terah Hicks, and welcome to the world baby Levi!
