Fine Arts Guild To Host Auditions For Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple

theater-masksIf you want to be a part of a guaranteed hit comedy, then audition for Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple, March 2 and 3, from 7-9 p.m., Park Village Playhouse. Perusal scripts are available at the Estes Park Public Library.

Unger and Madison are at it again! Florence Unger and Olive Madison, that is, in Neil Simon’s hilarious contemporary comic classic: the female version of The Odd Couple. Instead of the poker party that begins the original version, Ms. Madison has invited the girls over for an evening of Trivial Pursuit. The Pidgeon sisters have been replaced by the hilarious Venezuela brothers.

Director Deborah Baldwin said, “I’m looking for two men and six women, ages 25 to 70. In addition, I’m seeking a stage manager (anyone organized who loves theater can learn to do this job), a costume designer and a properties master or mistress. We look forward to meeting and working with lots of Estes Park talent, so come, one and all!”

Baldwin continued, “I know you are busy people. Please contact me before you decide not to audition because of a conflict or two. Usually, I can work around conflicts, at least until we’re nearing two weeks prior to performances. For instance, the Venezuela brothers have limited stage time, but when they are onstage, they are unforgettable. So, they won’t be called to rehearsal as much. Only Florence and Olive are needed at most of the rehearsals. If you have any questions about auditions or the rehearsal schedule, please feel free to contact me at
