Early Morning House Fire In Estes Park
On the morning of Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 5:30 a.m. the Estes Valley Volunteer Fire Department received a page from dispatch to respond to a house fire at 245 Virginia Drive in Estes Park.
The call was reporting a structure fire with heavy smoke and flames coming out of the second floor rear window of the home. All occupants were evacuated. The occupants were awake at the time and tried to put out the fire with a small fire extinguisher and water but were unable to do so as the fire spread quickly. A small fire detector was working properly and alerted the residents to the danger.
Sixteen firefighters responded to the call and brought three fire engines to the scene, including Engine 10, 7 and Squad 3. The flames were extinguished and there were no reports of injuries from this incident.
