Pinewood Springs resident Doris Bruggeman died at her home on Monday, August 17, 2009. She was 85 years old.
Doris Denton was born March 4, 1924 in Alliance, OH. Her parents were Thomas and Erma (Haines) Denton.
Doris married Willard Bruggeman, Jr. in Lakewood, Ohio on May 30, 1949. Doris lived in Ohio until moving to Pinewood Springs, CO in 1966. She served as the post office manager for the YMCA of the Rockies until her retirement in 1998. She also worked in housekeeping and the store for the YMCA. Doris attended Mountain View Bible Fellowship. She loved doing crafts of all kinds.
Doris is survived by her son, Tom Bruggeman and wife Yumiko of Denver, CO; daughters, Becky Tallman and husband Ray of Glen Haven, CO and Beth Swim and husband Jim of Shreveport, LA; a sister, Myrtle Smith of Walton Hills, OH. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Bruggeman in 2006, her parents and one sister, Jane Kunkel.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at the Mountain View Bible Fellowship. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Estes Valley or Native Adult/Youth Ministry in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 1302 Graves Avenue, Estes Park, CO 80517.
