Do You Know Who This Is?
In honor of the Park R-3 school district’s 125th anniversary this fall, the Estes Park News is running a fun promotion for the event. We will be running a series of photos of past Estes Park High School graduates. If you think you know who the photo at right is, email your answer to firstname.lastname@example.org. She attended Estes Park Schools and graduated as a Junior. The first person with the correct answer will be published in the following edition of the Estes Park News.
Our school district is “Celebrating 125 Years of Education” the weekend of September 26th and 27th.
The event will be celebrated in conjunction with the district’s traditional homecoming parade in which alumni and past teachers will be part. A tail gate party for alums and the community will be held the evening of the 26th before the homecoming football game. A community/alumni dance is also being planned.
The 125th anniversary coincides with the completion of the two year renovation of the district campus. On Saturday the 27th the community will be invited to tour the remodeled campus which includes the all three school buildings as well as the newly built observatory. Band and chorale concerts will be part of the celebration. Past graduates will be able view year books which go back to the 1920s. Part of the festivities will be rides in vintage cars and fire trucks.
High school students are preparing a composite year book and a DVD with photos and interviews with local alums.
Volunteers are needed to help with the parade and community dance. Call Kris Eitzen at 586-1803. If you have old pictures or would like to be interviewed about your school days in Estes Park, please contact Ruth Miller at the school district, 586-2361, ext 3001.
