Concrete Repairs Will Take Place This Fall And Next Spring Around Town

The Town of Estes Park Public Works Department is beginning concrete replacement on curbs, gutters and sidewalks in several locations in the downtown area and a few outlying areas. The Town’s contractor, Cornerstone Concrete Company (Bob Pavlish), will begin work this week and continue until winter weather prohibits work. Unfinished repairs will resume in spring of 2011. Work will generally take place Monday through Thursday and Friday mornings; there will be no weekend work.

As part of the Town’s annual concrete rehabilitation project, streets staff organized a list of priorities based on concrete surface quality, pedestrian safety, and the age, damage and wear of gutters, sidewalks and curbs. In some areas, the repairs may necessitate brief sidewalk closures. The general areas where repairs will take place are the 100 block of East Elkhorn Avenue, the 100 and 200 blocks of West Elkhorn Avenue, Tregent Park, Children’s Park, Peacock Park, Moraine Avenue, Spruce Street, Cleave Street, Bighorn Drive, the 200 block of East Riverside Drive, Second Street, Fourth Street, Ivy Street and Ptarmigan Trail.
