Community Spring Clean Up To Be Held Saturday, April 27th

Comm.-Clean-trash-pickupIt’s time again for the Annual Spring Cleanup. The cleanup areas include the Big Thompson River, Fall River, Fish Creek, Lake Estes, Mary’s Lake, and the entrance highways to Estes Park. The intent of the program is to clean our rivers from debris and create a heightened awareness of our rivers and their importance to our lives and environment. The event is being held one week prior to the annual Duck Race to provide a clean river for the race to beautify the community for residents and visitors coming to Estes to view the race.

Again this year we have collaborative sponsorship with the Estes Valley Recreation and Park District, the Town of Estes Park, the Rotary Club of Estes Park, and Starbucks.

The organized cleanup will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. All groups and volunteers are asked to meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Estes Park Visitors Center (across from McDonald’s) for instructions, directions, and distribution of cleanup bags. Starbucks will be providing coffee and hot chocolate, and pastries and the EVRPD will provide doughnut holes at the beginning of the event

We need volunteers to help with this program that promotes the Estes Park area and the environment. Please call or e-mail your total group number to Annie (586-2011 or annie@evrpd.com). If you have a specific area your group would like to clean-up, let Annie know this, as well.

We thank you for your participation in this valuable community event. If you have any questions, feel free to call Annie at the Lake Estes Marina.
