Community Foundation Partners With EVRPD To Make Rec Center A Reality

The Estes Valley Recreation and Park District announced today that it is partnering with the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado (CFNC) to move forward on raising funds for the Estes Valley Community Recreation Center. The facility is something that has long been a need in the community, and the CFNC coming to this project brings together another collaborator in making the community center a reality for the Estes Valley.

“The Community Foundation of Northern Colorado is honored to be a part of the Estes Valley Community Recreation Center, as we think is one of the most significant community endeavors in Estes Park history,” said Ray Caraway, President of the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado. “We see this project as a great fit for our organization, as we seek to support projects that have the greatest need in the community and embody the elements of community convening and collaboration: the Community Center certainly fits these criteria.”

The Community Foundation of Northern Colorado will serve as the fiscal agent, receiving and receipting all incoming gifts and tracking pledges. As philanthropic donations come in for the Community Recreation Center, they will go to the CFNC to be held until the Recreation District needs the funds for the facility.

“We are excited to have the Community Foundation on board to serve as the fiscal agent for the Estes Valley Community Recreation Center. Their strong reputation of bringing members in a community together to accomplish projects of change, and their desire to be part of a community collaboration makes them a great fit for our project,” said Skyler Rorabaugh, Executive Director, Estes Valley Recreation and Park District. “It is great to add the CFNC to the ever-growing list of community partners we have for this project.”

The Estes Valley Community Recreation Center is a project of the Estes Valley Recreation and Park District and a variety of local partners. This multi-generational community facility will create needed spaces in the community for childcare and youth sports, year-round active recreation, improved and expanded senior services, cutting-edge fitness and wellness services, a library presence that will adopt some of the best trends in digital libraries from around the world, social space for teens, aquatics, an indoor community garden and a variety of meeting spaces for the community. The project is currently working on finalizing the funding streams, and is aggressively seeking private funds through capital campaign efforts, grants, and marketing efforts.
