Celebration Of Life For Ted E. Karns
Ted Eugene Karns, 80, formerly of Loveland died on December 25, 2013, at his home in Drake. He was born January 15, 1933, in Loveland, Colorado, to Donald Eugene and Ruby (Thompson) Karns and was raised by his grandparents, John and Edith Karns.
Ted graduated from Loveland High School in 1951 and later graduated from Colorado A&M, now Colorado State University, with a Bachelors Degree in Agronomy.
He married Mary Abigail Vincent on August 4, 1954, in Loveland, Colorado.
Ted was a soil technician for U.S. Soil Conservation for three years and for the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs for 24 years.
Ted and Mary lived in Drake, CO, for over 30 years, after retiring in 1980. He was raised in the Presbyterian Faith, but more recently was involved with Fellowship of Messiah.
Ted loved fishing and mountain climbing and spending time in the outdoors. He enjoyed collecting Indian artifacts and seashells. Ted also enjoyed helping others.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Karns of Drake, CO; son, Eugene Karns and wife, Coral of Rockport, WA; daughter, Dawna Gene Warren of Drake, CO; and granddaughter, Chantill Karns of Loveland. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Margene Karns.
