Celebrating Open Space

Town-RibbonCommunity partners and residents gathered to celebrate the new aspen grove at the Scott Ponds open space in Carriage Hills on Thursday, July 11. For public enjoyment, natural water filtration and wildlife habitat, 70 aspen trees have been planted through a partnership among the Town of Estes Park, its Parks Division and Tree Board, Eagle Rock School and Platte River Power Authority.

Cutting the ribbon were (left to right) Tree Board President Rex Poggenpohl, Trustee Wendy Koenig, Eagle Rock School student Ashley Hernandez, Town Parks employee Keri Kelly, Mayor Pro Tem Eric Blackhurst, Town Parks employee Brian Berg, Platte River Power Authority’s Jon Little, and Town Parks Foreman Russ Franklin.
