CDOT Hosting Public Meeting On US 36 Flood Repairs
Members of the public encouraged to participate
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) invites members of the public to participate in upcoming meetings to learn more about continued efforts to repair US 36 following the September 2013 flooding. A public meeting will be held in Estes Park on Wednesday, January 8 at 6 p.m. at the Estes Park Town Hall (170 MacGregor Avenue), and a telephone town hall phone call will be held Thursday, January 9 at 7 p.m.
The telephone town hall phone call is scheduled to last for one hour and will include representatives from CDOT, Central Federal Lands, and American Civil Constructors, Inc. to answer questions about the first phase of emergency repairs on US 36, which will start next week and last until mid-May 2014. Representatives will be providing listeners with a summary of upcoming work to make the highway more resilient in the future, work to improve safety along the highway, and rockfall and rock mitigation work that will cause extensive delays through the area.
To participate in the town hall, call 877-229-8493 anytime between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. and enter the code 112034. For those who are unable to call Thursday evening, an audio recording of the call will be available online the week of Monday, January 13 at www.coloradodot.info/travel/floodinfoupdates or on the project website at www.coloradodot.info/projects/floodrelatedprojects/us-36-lyons-to-estes.
