Estes Park resident Carol Pittman died Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, CO. She was 55 years old. Carol R. Blount was born November 15, 1953 in Cincinnati, OH. Her parents were James E. and Geneva D. (Potts) Blount.
Carol graduated from high school in Loveland, OH. She lived in Loveland, OH and Pleasant Plain, OH before moving to Estes Park, CO in April, 1995. Carol married Joseph Pittman in 1984 in Cincinnati, OH. She worked as a computer operator for Deluxe Check Printing in Ohio and the Trial Gazette newspaper in Estes Park, CO.
Carol was an avid bowler, participating in several leagues. She served as Secretary and Treasurer for the Estes Park Women’s Bowling Association. She also participated in several local, state and national tournaments. Carol also enjoyed doing stained glass, cross stitch, softball, hiking and reading. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Carol is survived by her mother, Geneva Fairhurst and husband Austin of Cambridge, OH; brother Jim Blount and wife Cookie of Mason, OH; sisters Karen Mosko and husband Ben of Columbus, OH and Linda Carrelli and husband Jerry of Maineville, OH; step-son John Pittman and wife Jennie of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren Maddie, Emma, and Colin Pittman of Cincinnati OH; several nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Pittman and her father, James E. Blount.
