Big Thompson Flood Service to be held July 31st, 7pm
The 37th Memorial service will be held on Wed. July 31st at 7:00 at the Memorial site 1 mile below Drake, Co. by the fire station. This year 6 scholarships will be awarded. The program this year will be very special with a lot of feeling; Jodi Bell will be singing and playing her Guitar. Jodi was just 4 when her mother Cheryl Zeiler Watson was taken away by the flood. Life is not fair sometimes, but it’s what we do with it in the long run that matters. Jodi has just become a licensed Minister of the Church of the Brethren, her mother would be so proud of her. Rev. John Carlson from the Church of the Brethren will be speaking at the service. It will be a heartfelt evening as sharing is sometime the best form of release. Candles will be placed by the families for the 5 who were never found. Teresa Graham, Evelyn Kindred, George McCarty, Vernon Oler, and Rochelle Rogers.
Everyone is Welcome, there will be refreshments after the service bring a folding chair if you have one. More info about us go to www.1976bigthompsonflood.org. We look forward to seeing you all.
