Big Summer Sale To Benefit Cultural Arts Council Of Estes Park
On July 11 and 12, 2009 the public is invited to attend a “Red Tag Art & Collectible Sale” to help raise money for visual and performing arts programs presented by the Cultural Arts Council of Estes Park in 2009. The Council was established in 1990, and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the mission to enhance the quality and accessibility of visual and performing arts for people of all ages.”The Council provides free or affordable arts programming and acts as vital information and support resource for the arts.
Over 35 artist/gallery members of the Arts Council will participate in the benefit sale being held at the CAC Fine Art Gallery located at 423 W. Elkhorn Ave. on the west end of downtown Estes Park. The public has the opportunity to purchase fine arts, crafts, photography, art supplies, frames, prints and other items at below market or appraised value, and it is a great opportunity for buyers to purchase original works of art at great prices.
An assortment of collectibles and art antiquities will also be offered, and proceeds from all items the sale will help underwrite Arts Council programs.
In addition to the art for sale by member artists, a collection of art and antiquities have been donated for the sale. Some of these items include art such as Native American basketry and jewelry, a Herb Mignery bronze, collectible rugs and works by contemporary artists. Some art objects have been professionally appraised, and copies of the appraisals are available.
Several of the sale participating artists will also be giving art demonstrations throughout the weekend. They include Robert Salo (oil), William Zelt (woodcarving), Cynthia Price Reedy (watercolor), Pam England (watercolor),
Margaret E. Jensen (oil), Nancy O’Farrell (watercolor) and Kelly Kotary (oil).
The Red Tag Art & Collectible Sale hours are 12 noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday July 11 and 12 to 3 p.m on Sunday July 12. There is no admission to attend the sale.
