Becky Ramey Extends Heartfelt Thank You

Dear Editor,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank your newspaper and KEPL radio for all of the support you have given me and the “Friends of Becky Ramey” during my recent bout with Lymphoma.

Now for an update on my current situation. On August 15, Dr. J. Mark Barnett declared me to be in remission following six chemotherapy treatments. He strongly recommended that I see a Radiology Oncologist for some follow-up radiation therapy.  There has been enough research indicating that with some radiation therapy, the cancer will not come back. By the time this letter is published, I should have only five or six more radiation treatments. We are hoping to complete treatment on September 26.

Without the help of everyone who so very generously donated to the jars around town, items to the American Legion Auxiliary for the fund raiser silent auction and raffle, monetary donations by folks from not only the Estes Park valley, but all over the U. S.; everyone who sent cards, letters, flowers, meals, moral support, and most importantly prayers; my recovery would have been so much more difficult and stressful. With everyone’s help, we feel that all uninsured medical expenses are covered and I am able to concentrate on recovery. I am looking forward to getting my strength back and getting back to a productive “normal” life.

There are a few people that I need to extend a special THANKS to: The American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary, the Hyde Chapel Congregation and Bill Huth, Barb Evans, Joyce Hughes, Dr. Wendy Koenig, and Bob Hakenewerth. Without these friends, this all would have been so much more difficult. Each one of these people know the special contributions they have extended to my recovery.

I am so blessed to live in such an awesome community that takes care of so many people in need and thankful that I am one of so many.

Thanks to all!
Becky Ramey
