Barrie Lea Alioth

May 21, 1942 – January 25, 2010

Barrie Lea Alioth passed away on January 25, 2010 at her home in Estes Park Colorado. Most recently she had lived in Longmont, Colorado, Bridgewater, New Jersey and Overland Park, Kansas.

Barrie was born on May 21, 1942 in Puerto Rico, the daughter of George John Bayerle and Marion Katherine Bayerle, both of whom preceded her in death. Her father was an officer in the U.S. Army and Barrie and her family lived in several different countries during her childhood.

She earned a BA from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, and an MBA from Rockhurst College in Kansas City. She pursued a career in the pharmaceutical industry, which included the companies of Riker, McGaw and Stuart.  In 1977 she went to work for Marion Laboratories in Kansas City, working in marketing and strategic business positions, attaining the level of Vice President Business and Portfolio Analysis. She left to join Boulder based Pharmion Corporation in 2000 as Vice President, Strategic Planning where she worked until she retired in 2007.

Barrie enjoyed travel, art, political debate and watching ice-skating, particularly during the Winter Olympics. Her mountain home brought her much beauty, happiness and peace. Finally, she loved her friends and we loved her.

A “Celebration of Barrie’s Life” will be held on Friday, February 5 at 4:00 p.m. at the Boulder Cork located at 3295 30th Street, Boulder, Colorado. Friends are invited to join us in honoring her memory.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or to the charity of donor’s choice in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 1302 Graves Avenue, Estes Park, CO 80517.
