Attention All Community Members Interested In School Safety

Please consider joining the Estes Park Police Department and the Park R-3 School District in the C.A.T.S. partnership, a volunteer program designed to enhance school safety for our students and staff.  C.A.T.S. stands for Caring Adults Teaming for Safety. Last year the program was launched and well-received at the high school and this year will expand to the middle school. Volunteers are needed for either two hour shifts or half day shifts, if one’s schedule allows it.

All volunteers must attend a training provided by the school resource officer, Jeremiah Polucha, in collaboration with the school administration and must be willing to undergo a background check. Our first fall training will be held Monday, October 13th, at 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the middle school media center.  Please feel free to call either Wendy at the Middle School at 970-586-4439 or Nancy Gregg, High School CATS Coordinator at 970-481-4390 or for more information or email us at
