Arthur Richard Koch, 93, of Loveland, went to be with his Heavenly Father March 13, 2010. He was born July 19, 1916 in Victor, IA and was formerly a thirty year resident of rural Monett, MO.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marion Ruth, his children, Arthur R. Koch Jr., of Wayland, MI, William D. Koch of Pittsburgh, PA, M. Carol Rouch, of Estes Park, CO, and Donald G. Koch of Las Vegas, NV. and eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Aurora, Stephanie, Amber, Seth, Erin, Sara and Emily. He is further survived by a sister, Bonnie Malchow of Clackamas, OR. Arthur was preceded in death by his father and mother, Julius and Martha, and six siblings, Julius, Elmer, Erwin, Roland, Roger and Margaret. Arthur was a graduate of Iowa State University where he was a baseball pitcher. Arthur worked for General Electric Company as an electrical engineer for thirty six years.
During World War II, he was instrumental in the development of high frequency transmitter tubes used for radar systems, greatly benefitting our armed forces. He held several patents. After living in the Syracuse, NY area, they retired to the Monett, MO area, and later relocated to Loveland, CO. Arthur enjoyed singing, hunting, gardening, ham radio, and making jewelry that he would share with his friends and loved ones.
