Albert D. Green
Albert “Al” D. Green was born Sept. 21, 1927, at home in Greeley to loving parents Henry and Amelia (Woh) Green. He died Aug. 20, 2013, at Collier Care Center in Wheat Ridge.
Al graduated from Greeley High School and began an electrician apprentice ship as a lineman for the local power company in Sterling. He married Bettie Pierce of Sterling, and they later divorced. They had one daughter, Janice Colleen.
Al earned his master electrician credentials and worked for the Bureau of Reclamation-Big Thompson Project In 1961, he joined General Services Administration, working at the Denver Federal Cen- ter. There he met his second wife, Patricia (Brown) Green. She died in 1996. He married Sally (Thompson) Green in 2007. After 35 years of exemplary service, he retired as general manager of facilities at the Denver Federal Center. In addition to career-related affiliations.
Al was a charter member of the German from Russia Organization in Denver. Al enjoyed nature and the outdoors, spending many hours going on hikes and enjoying the seasons at his cabin in Estes Park.
Al is survived by his daughter, Janice (Green) Hecht (Michael); granddaughter, Allison Coleen HeCht of California; brothers, Kenneth E. Green of Taos, NJM., and Harvey R. Green (Connie) of Eaton; wife, Sally Green of Palmer Lake; eight devoted step children; sister-in-law, Mary Lou (Frank) Faiella; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leroy Green; and second wife, Patricia Green.
Al will be dearly missed by his family and many friends for his loyalty, integ- rity and generosity.
A celebration of life memorial service is planned for the near future. Cremation was provided by Malesich and Shirey Funeral Home of Arvada.
