Access To US 36 Community Meeting and Celebration
Free bus service will be provided on, Tuesday, October 29 in Estes Park and Pinewood Springs for those who wish to attend tomorrow’s “Thank You” celebration and public meeting in Longmont at the LifeBridge Christian Church, 10345 Ute Highway. The “Thank You” event begins at 5 p.m., and the public meeting will last from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Residents of Estes Park who wish to use the bus service may, on a first-come, first-served basis, meet the bus by 3:30 p.m. in the Estes Park Town Hall Municipal Parking Lot at 170 MacGregor Avenue. Space is limited. Those who do not receive seats in the bus may follow it through the US 36 work zone in their private vehicles.
Residents of the Pinewood Springs/Big Elk Meadows/Estes Park Estates areas should meet at the Colorado Cherry Company parking lot (12311 N. St. Vrain Drive) by 4:15 p.m. Space is limited and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, but it will also be possible for private vehicles to follow the buses through the US 36 work zone to travel to the meeting.
Buses will return to the Pinewood Springs and Estes Park parking lots promptly following the completion of the public meeting at 9 p.m. All private vehicles must follow the buses back through the work zone following the meeting. Please note that if the meeting ends early, it is possible that one bus may leave sooner than the others for those who wish to get home sooner.
For residents who are unable to use the bus and vehicle access times, a one-time pass through the work zone will be allowed at the scheduled 5 p.m. pilot car access time on the Estes side of the work zone. Those who use this access time are advised that paving will be underway in the work zone, and significant delays of up to one hour are expected. Paving operations will allow crews to accelerate the reopening date of the highway.
