David W. Krumme

David W. Krumme died February 15, 2013 surrounded by his family and close friends. His life was well-lived and his contribution to those he loved is beyond measure. He tasted the strawberry and it was delicious.

David was born February 1, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to George and Edwynne Krumme. He attended Pomona College and the University of California at Berkeley graduating in 1977 with a PhD, Phi Beta Kappa, in Mathematics. He enjoyed a distinguished career as a professor of mathematics and computer science at Tufts University where he co-founded the Department of Computer Science. He enjoyed a fine life of service with many friends in the town of Winchester, Massachusetts. In 2004, he retired from Tufts in order to live in the mountains in Estes Park, Colorado where he enjoyed hiking and climbing, working on his land and playing with his dogs, all in the company of his family and friends. He and his son Matthew purchased Airbits, a small internet company which they built into a thriving business. He supported the goals of the Estes Park Learning Place where his daughter Catherine teaches. He worked tirelessly and enthusiastically serving the community of Estes Park through the Sunrise Rotary and Airbits.

David married Cynthia, his childhood sweetheart, on May 30, 1969. They shared life for nearly 50 years.

As David wished, there will be no funeral service.
