Dr. Jon Kedrowski To Speak On “Climbing Your Own Everest”

Join Dr. Jon Kedrowski, for his program “Climbing Your Own Everest” on Thursday, February 7th at 7 p.m. at the Estes Park High School Auditorium. Dr. Jon Kedrowski, acclaimed author, world class mountaineer and Everest summiteer, will be sharing tales of his journeys and experiences. He will also be on hand to sign his new book, “Sleeping on the Summits: Colorado 14er High Bivys.” Cost for admission is just $10 per person.

On May 26, 2012, Jon made it to the top of Mount Everest after having to turn around only 800 feet from the summit in a terrible storm on May 20th, less than a week earlier. The storm was the second deadliest in Everest History, claiming seven lives in one night.

Jon will discuss his 2012 expedition and how his expeditions of Colorado 14ers was one way he prepared mentally and physically for a climb of the highest mountain on earth. Kedrowski slept on the summit of all 55 Colorado 14ers (14,000’ peaks) from sunset to sunrise in 95 days in 2011. We’ll learn that we all have our own goals in life, and we each have our very own ‘Everest’ to climb. Dr. Kedrowski will share his personal journey growing up in Colorado, and how he went from local student athlete, to college basketball, and to climbing Colorado 14ers, and also setting his goals even higher to Mount Everest.

Sleeping on the Summits books and 2013 Calendars will be on sale with 50% from Every Purchase to benefit Estes Park High School, and 50% to benefit the Everest Scholarship fund set up by Kedrowski in 2008 to support youth. Books are $30 and 2013 Calendars are $10. Purchase both for $35 and save $5!
