A Big Thank You For A Successful Eagle Project
Garrett Hurni would like to thank everyone for their donations (time, sweat and money) to his Eagle Project. From Boy Scout Troop 10 in Estes Park, Garrett got more than 40 volunteers to donate more than 200 man hours to build a new outdoor theater at the United Methodist Church of Estes Park on Fish Hatchery Road.
Estes Park Lumber Company, Kearney and Sons, and Ace Hardware all donated product and discounts to help make the project a success. Individual donations from friends and family locally, and from around the country, were sent in to cover the $1,900 budget of the project.
On one workday, a group of volunteers built a path leading up to the Outdoor Theater. Another group built the theater, with seating for 50-55 people on tiered wooden benches, and a stone podium at the front. The new area can be used for weddings and services.
The Eagle Project is one of the final steps in attaining the Eagle Rank, the highest rank achievable in the Boy Scouts of America. Thank you to all who helped make Garrett’s Eagle Project a success.
