Draft Horse Show Sunday, Aug. 19
Estes Park Draft Horse Show will be held this Sunday, Aug. 19, at The Fairgrounds at Stanley Park. This event is family friendly, fun & free!
The Draft Horse, whether your favorite breed is Belgian, Clydesdale, Percheron or Shire, you will see them all as they arrive to compete in Estes Park’s first Draft Horse Show. Watch as single horses and teams display their work ethic in Farm Competitions, while showing their style and grace in Hitch Classes.
Not familiar with these Gentle Giants? Come see for yourself why these versatile horses, who once carried knights into battle, helped build and feed nations and continue to be valued by owners and Draft Horse enthusiasts around the world! Competitions will take place throughout the day, with a special stick horse race for the kids.
The Draft Horse Show will begin at 9 a.m. Times for the individual classes depend upon the number of teams and horses entered in each event. It is estimated that the Six Horse Hitch will begin at approximately 3 or 3:30 p.m.
Just some of the other events include Halter, Junior Showmanship, Farm Team Obstacle, Mare Cart, Gelding Cart, Stick Horse Races, Junior Cart, Farm Team on the Rail, Hitch Team Class (mare or gelding) Single Horse Log Obstacle, Six-Horse Hitch and the ever popular Barrel Race.
