Estes Valley Land Trust 3rd Summer Breakfast Program
Estes Valley Land Trust invites you to become a new member, so you can share your love for this beautiful mountain community by supporting stewardship efforts on conservation easements…for now… and for future generations!
Peggy Chiu, senior counsel for The Trust for Public Land, will speak on the economic value of land conservation. She will explain how privately owned lands provide economic benefits in conjunction with a multitude of public services including water supply, flood control, recreation, wildlife habitat, scenic views, among other benefits. Jessica Sargent, Director of Conservation Economics for The Trust for Public Land, conducted an analysis of the state’s financial return on public investments in conservation easements. She will discuss her dramatic findings, including a dollar value placed on public benefits.
Following the presentation, a brief business session will be held for the election of EVLT board members. In 2012, Chuck Levine has been nominated for the ballot as a new board member. Curt Gleaves and Marsha Yelick are up for a 2nd term as members of the board.
