Fourth Annual Party At Mrs. Walsh’s Garden
Fun-loving families are invited to the fourth annual Mrs. Walsh’s Garden Party on Saturday, July 28 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Located on West Elkhorn across from Performance Park, this free event will include crafts and games, refreshments and fun for all ages.
Local puppeteer Bob Aiken will delight garden visitors by helping them make butterfly puppets, which their creators can then flutter along the garden paths among colorful flowers to the small waterfall. In addition, youngsters will be able to enjoy a fishing pond with prizes, craft projects, seed plantings to take home, a reading nook, bubbles, face painting and more. A CSU Larimer County Master Gardener will be available to answer adults’ plant and weed questions. Garden guests will be invited to enjoy free refreshments while they stroll in the sunny garden or rest on comfortable benches in the shade.
Guests will take pleasure in Mrs. Walsh’s Garden’s abundance of flowers and plants native to the surrounding Rocky Mountain Region. Well-identified plant displays of the foothills, montane, subalpine, and alpine life zones can be found along the footpath in this vibrant garden.
Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of Judy Lamy, the Garden is a treasure for locals and visitors to Estes Park. Judy was dedicated to creating a tribute that would honor her grandmother, Mrs. Winifred Walsh and her family’s love of the area.
Mrs. Walsh’s Garden is located on West Elkhorn Avenue across from Performance Park. (Also a stop on the Estes Park Free Shuttle route.) Open daily from dawn until dusk, the Garden is wheelchair accessible. No pets, please.
