Beaver Mountain Fire Fully Contained
The small fire which started July 18, in Rocky Mountain National Park called the Beaver Mountain Fire has been fully contained. The fire was on the east side of Rocky Mountain National Park near Upper Beaver Meadows Road.
Sixteen National Park Service crew members hiked in to the area to complete mop up operations and a Type III helicopter and six member crew from the US Forest Service flew in as well.
The cause of the fire is lightning. The Upper Beaver Meadows Road has reopened. All other areas in Rocky Mountain National Park are open and not impacted by the fire.
