Lenore “Lee” Prendergast
Lenore “Lee” Prendergast died at her Estes Park, CO home Tuesday morning March 20, 2012. She was 82 years old. Lenore Mary Lutz was born May 13, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA. Her parents were Earl & Mary(McGovern) Lutz. She graduated from Saint Leonard’s High School Academy and received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky. She worked for the Federal Government and later at N.O.A.A. On January 29, 1955 she married Richard “Dick” Prendergast in Philadelphia.
The couple lived in Allentown, PA, Bergen County, NJ, Stamford, CT and Lexington, KY before moving to Boulder, CO. After Dick’s retirement in 1975, they moved to Estes Park where Lee was a member of Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church and the Altar & Rosary Society. She enjoyed reading mystery books and traveling, especially by train. Lee is survived by her husband, Dick of Estes Park; sons Robert (Lynda) of Parachute, CO and Paul (Jackie) of Denver; daughter Mary and her husband Thomas Sonnenberg of Denver. She is also survived by five grandchildren Joseph, Maxwell, Elizabeth, Colin, Sophia and Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Mountains Church. An Evening Vigil Service will be held Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at Allnutt Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Estes Valley Memorial Gardens.
