Chuck Benson To Give Presentation On “Parkitecture” At The Art Center
The Art Center of Estes Park would like to cordially invite the public to a casual, fun, and informative gathering at the Art Center Saturday evening, February 11 at 7:00 p.m. for a presentation by Chuck Benson. “Parkitecture…the unique rustic and romantic design of hotels and lodges associated with National Parks” will cover Yosemite, Yellowstone, Bryce, Zion, Glacier, the Stanley Hotel and other locales both in and near the great western National Parks. Lodge and hotel design and aesthetics will be carefully examined.
Chuck Benson has been teaching the History of Art and Architecture at the University undergraduate and graduate levels for over 25 years. He currently is teaching at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, and is also lecturing nationally on a variety of subjects and topics. Chuck also is a Design Principal in the practice of architecture, and has executed a variety of ecclesiastical, commercial, and residential projects over the last 30 years. He also leads Art and Architecture groups to Europe and abroad, as well as groups to New York, Chicago, Boston, Wash. D.C. and Los Angeles to examine the great art and architecture that resides in those cities.
This outstanding presentation will take place in the gallery at the Art Center at 7:00 p.m. Saturday evening, February 11 and is free and open to the public. The Art Center of Estes Park is a nonprofit organization which provides a facility to support the work of local and regional artists, striving to promote exhibition, education, and excellence in the visual arts.
