Prospect Avenue Scheduled To Reopen July 30

Repairs on bypass begin next week

After a major reconstruction project by the Town of Estes Park and its contractor, Lafarge North America, Prospect Avenue will reopen to traffic on approximately Friday, July 30. Smaller clean-up projects along the roadway will continue this week. Major improvements to Prospect Avenue include widening of the roadway, new curbing and a sidewalk on the south side, reconfigured side street intersections, improvements to drainage and underground relocation of the power, telephone and cable lines.

During the first two weeks of August, weather permitting, uneven surface conditions on the recently-reconstructed Moccasin bypass above Prospect Avenue will be evaluated and corrected by Lafarge, at no additional cost to the Town. Flagging and one-lane traffic will be necessary. In case a detour becomes necessary, motorists should watch construction signage for detour information.

Questions regarding this project may be directed to Greg Sievers, Town of Estes Park Public Works Project Manager, at 970-577-3586 or Mike Todd of Cornerstone Engineering, at 970-586-2458. To receive Town news in your e-mail inbox, please e-mail townadmin@estes.org.
